Our history

In business since 1988, GFI Solutions Group Inc. is a private, Montreal-based company that offers information technology (IT) and e-business solutions. GFI designs, develops, implements, and manages value-added business applications and systems for large organizations, as well as small and medium businesses.

International presence
In 2004, GFI became a member of GFI Informatique, a European company that offers a wide-range of IT services. With over 10,000 collaborators, this alliance enables GFI to benefit from an extended network of contacts, as well as additional financial and technical resources. GFI builds on the strength of this partnership to carry out international contracts, to develop new expertise and to create business opportunities.

Noteworthy acquisitions
In the past five years, GFI has made several significant and very strategic acquisitions. In 2005, GFI made two acquisitions: Imagina Technology Solutions and Accovia Inc. The Imagina acquisition enabled GFI to offer new services and to diversify its customer base. While the Accovia acquisition, a software company specializing in the travel industry, has given GFI access to an international market and a qualified team of experts who develop and market commercial software solutions for a global market. In 2008, GFI acquired Bell Business Solutions Inc., now renamed GFI Business Solutions Inc., allowing GFI to expand its services across Canada in the private and public sectors, developing applications for the municipal sector, clinical health as well as manufacturing, distribution and printing. In 2009, GFI completed its fourth acquisition in five years with Fortsum Business Solutions Inc., a Quebec firm well established in business solutions, accounting and banking sectors and who has significantly grown its revenue, profitability and productivity over the past two years.

A major player in Canada
Today, with close to 1,000 consultants, GFI Solutions Group is the fourth largest business consulting firm in Quebec, and is among the top 25 IT products and services firms in Canada. Our reputation is founded on the strength of our strategic and practical skills, and our proven ability to implement solutions that drive new revenue and reduce operational costs.

GFI Solutions Group Network

GFI Informatique
In 2004, GFI became a member of GFI Informatique, a European company that offers a wide-range of IT services. With over 10,000 collaborators, this alliance enables GFI to benefit from an extended network of contacts, as well as additional financial and technical resources. In fact, the two companies collaborated in 2005 to develop GFI Solutions Group's EMV (Europay MasterCard Visa) expertise, a well established standard in Europe for smart cards. This expertise allowed us to solidify our position in Canada in this very strategic field.

GFI Conseils
GFI Conseils Inc. employs a highly qualified team of technical consultants, experienced business analysts and senior advisors, who work primarily with Quebec-based organizations to deliver large-scale projects, or to complement their customers’ existing project teams. The company’s administrative and business development activities are managed by GFI Solutions Group.

Conceptum
Conceptum Inc. is an IT consulting firm headquartered in the same Montreal offices as GFI Solutions Group. It provides its customers with the services of a multidisciplinary team of technical experts and business analysts who help companies develop and evolve their business applications, while ensuring that the appropriate technical infrastructure is in place to support them.

Accovia
Accovia Inc. is a leading provider of travel packaging technology and tailored IT solutions, serving more than 40 travel suppliers in 8 countries, which in turn serve more than 25 million travellers each year. In 2008, GFI Solutions Group completed its acquisition of Accovia. Both companies have pooled their synergies, technologies and resources to develop new business opportunities in the travel industry.

GFI Business Solutions
In July 2008, GFI Solutions Group, working through its subsidiary GFI Conseils Inc., acquired Bell Business Solutions Inc., later renamed GFI Business Solutions Inc. This entity oversees the activities of several companies, including Nexxlink Technologies, and ProfitMaster Canada, which was acquired in 2006. The integration of these IT industry leaders into one company reinforces the ability of GFI Solutions Group as a trusted technological consulting firm. GFI Business Solutions offers leading-edge IT solutions to small and medium businesses throughout Canada. It relies on the expertise of a team of over 350 professionals working out of Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Québec and Sherbrooke.

Fortsum Business Solutions Inc.
In May 2009, GFI acquired Fortsum Business Solutions which boasts in excess of 24,000 customers mainly in Quebec, Ontario and the Maritimes. Fortsum Business Solutions specializes in the development, support, implementation, integration and marketing of efficient adaptable high-tech solutions for the daily management of business and financial data of Canadian SMBs.
